Plan an open garden boundary with the height, top style and entrance that suit your space.
2ft panels suit low decorative edging around paths and planting. 3ft panels give a more noticeable front-garden boundary, while 4ft panels create a taller boundary with the same open design.
Pointed tops give a traditional picket outline. Round tops create a softer-looking top line. Both styles allow light and visibility between the pales.
If you need privacy screening, compare our closeboard panels instead.
Panels are sold as 6ft wide. Check the exact dimensions on the product page and measure any existing openings before ordering. Include post widths and the fixing method when setting out a new run.
These panels are designed for fixing to suitable timber posts. Check compatibility before using a different post system. On sloping ground, plan level bays stepped to follow the slope.
A straight freestanding run normally needs one more post than panels. Browse fence posts and post mix, or use the fence panel calculator to help plan quantities.
Choose a gate opening before marking post positions. Our picket gates include pointed and round-top options; check each gate’s height, width and fittings against your layout.
The panels come in a pressure-treated brown finish. If you want a painted or stained finish, allow the timber to dry sufficiently and use a suitable exterior wood product, following its preparation instructions.
Keep soil and wet vegetation away from the panels, and check posts and fixings periodically.
