Match the panel style, dimensions and supporting posts to your garden before you order.
For a solid garden boundary: closeboard uses overlapping vertical featheredge boards, while lap panels use overlapping horizontal boards.
For a framed finish: framed closeboard panels have a full timber perimeter frame and are designed for timber posts.
For a curved top: explore Omega closeboard panels.
For light and visibility: picket panels have spaced pales, with pointed or round-top options for front gardens and open boundaries.
Check the product dimensions. Heights range from 2ft to 6ft across the collection, but each style has its own available sizes. Measure existing openings before choosing replacement panels.
Allow for gravel boards. A 5ft 6in panel above a 6in gravel board gives approximately 6ft overall. Check the finished height from ground level, including any gravel board.
Allow for your post system. Panel width is not the same as post centre spacing. Post dimensions and the way the panel is fixed also need to be allowed for.
On sloping ground: plan to step rigid panels in level bays, and check shaped-top panel dimensions on the individual product page.
Choose the panel and post system together. Check the panel specification and actual fit before using existing posts or ordering new ones; not every panel style suits the same fixing method.
For a straight freestanding run, you normally need one more post than panels. Allow for additional corners, ends and gate openings.
